Was a trip I could NEVER forget!
Friday Morning:
At 5am dad came up stairs to wake me up, none of you should be unfamiliar with it concept, I pulled on a pair of jeans and stumbled down stairs with my pillow and blankey picked up a pair of shoes and walked to the car. I was caring my locket with Kraytons picture in it and when I got in the car I put it in the little compartment above my stereo, because dad doesn't like anything hanging from the rear view mirror (its also illegal).
We get on the high way on the off ramp to I-5 and I realize I forgot my camera so we get back on 44 and run home. I run inside and grab the camera while dad grabs the rainx because I forgot to do it.
So we are finally get back on the freeway and are our making our way to AZ, we get to Corning and the power to the radio just goes out dad wakes me up and asks me what the H is going on and to find the remote control to see if it will fix it, yeah nothing. So I pull out the DVD player and put in the only CD in my car dad can half way stand which was an Aerosmith CD Bryce gave to me when he moved to UT because he didn't want/need it any more.
Well we get to Stockton to get gas and eat French toast sticks at Carls Jr but before we do we check every fuse in the car, under the hood and below the dash, but they were all good. So I went and pulled the stereo out of the dash but everything appeared to be normal, not that I know anything about stereos.
After an hour of tearing my car apart we gave up and got back on the road. Were riding along just fine stop for a snack at McDee's a few more hours down the road and don't stop again until we are about to run out of gas just before the CA AZ boarder (and I was about to pee my pants). The only two gas stations in the little tiny dot on the map were charging $3.74 a gallon for regular so dad got five bucks worth we relived our bladders and went off again.
Then we get past the fruit station and the roads were the crappiest I have ever seen! You don't even know it was ridiculous they had signs on the side of the road that said caution rough road. Well we were about to run out of gas again so I stop at the gas station Grandpa told us to a few days before because it is the cheapest in the area, and it was! And we decided to eat dinner, because we didn't know how much longer it would be. Well after the ten minute wait for our Famous Star's at Carls (yes twice in one day) we ask the lady and she was like "Oh it 20 mile up the road"
We get back into the car and our driving out of the parking lot and the crazy people at the truck stop messed up our order big time! Whatever.
So we finally get to Uncle Bob's and Aunt Meri's house and they were waiting for us to eat dinner...oops. Should have known. It was 7:15 by this time, it felt like it took two days to get there.
