Meet our Baby Chicks!

We finally went and bought our baby chicks yesterday afternoon while everybody and their brother was on their way to the Kool April Nites parade.

Lemon-Poppy

This is my baby chick, I named her Lemon, you know for Lemon Chicken and Kelly decided her middle name should be Poppy.

Blanco-Bella
Dakota's Chick, he wanted to name her, Kristy, Molly and about a hundred other people names but dad made a rule that it has to be a real chicken name, in other words not a persons name.

Tiana
Kyra had the one exception to this rule, she named hers after the princess on Princess and the Frog.

Hattie
I am not to sure where Shelby got the name for her chicken, except I started naming the strange names from TV and that one came up and mom loved it. She was heart set on Misty, but that is out cats name in case any of you forgot and then she wanted Kylie, but once again we don't do people names.

Lay-vonn Da
This is Moms chick, not to sure where she comes up with these names, but whatever.

Om-O-Let-Ah

This is Dads chick, once again they decided to get all crazy with the names. Robert wasn't with us when we got our chicks so he doesn't really have one, but apparently it is a competition to see who's chicken will lay eggs first, I doubt mine will she is the littlest.

We had to get the bigger chickens because they were already sexed. We think they are all Road Island Reds except Dakotas because he wanted a white chicken. They are living in a cardboard box in our house for now, until dad gets sick of them then he is going to move there play pin to the shed until they are big enough for our coop.
